I love when birthday's come around. Correction, when other people's birthdays come around. They were never a big deal in my house but I

think everyone should be made to feel special on their day. It's always the little things that count. Such as secret messages, big signs, snail

mail, baked treats, personalised drawings, flower trails or a surprise visit. My friend's birthday was yesterday so I made some fairy cupcakes.

I think they are pretty good for a first attempt.

For my birthday my friend Steven gave me this wonderful drawing. It is me right down to my roller derby skates, apron with the

tray of baked goods, sock monkey hat and feather necklace. He is so talented I don't think he even realises it.

I love baking. It's something I can do without thinking and barely ever stuff it up. I'm getting pretty good at not measuring things out. Nothing

smells better than a hazelnut torte baking in the oven whilst listening to Cloud Control dreaming of future trips and special friends. Pity it stuck,

so it was eaten with spoons straight from the glorious pan itself.
